The electronic RED eTap AXS is the next revolution among SRAM's gear groups. It not only offers a wider range, but also smaller gear jumps compared to the previous version. What may sound counterintuitive at first is made possible by the new X-Range gear ratios of the RED DUB crank in combination with the RED 12-speed cassette. Thanks to the cassette's 10-tooth pinion, smaller chainrings are sufficient to achieve the same maximum gear ratio as with an 11-tooth pinion. With a wide range of gear ratios and as a 1- and 2-speed version, the eTap AXS is just as versatile as the use of bikes with drop bars is today: From gravel bikes to time trial machines, the right RED eTap group can be put together. The new AXS technology (pronounced "access") offers you the option of adapting the gears to your personal preferences, evaluating your gear shifting behavior or carrying out firmware updates via the smartphone app. In addition to the freely selectable assignment of all shift buttons, the gearshift can also be operated in semi-automatic mode, in which the rear derailleur and front derailleur synchronize themselves automatically and you only have to choose between a lighter and a heavier gear.
