Specialized Rapide Cl II
The all-new Rapide CL II wheelset brings the speed, efficiency, incredible handling and stability of the Rapide CLX II to more riders in all conditions. The Rapide CL II is based on exactly the same rims as the Rapide CLX II and increases this performance with tubeless done-right technology.
Deep-cut front wheel rims are affected by crosswinds. This has a negative impact on driving behavior, which in turn causes the driver to slow down. By using the first modeling algorithm based on driver reaction times and validated by road testing, we have developed a front rim that both reduces drag and improves stability in sudden gusts of wind compared to our previous 50mm -Rims increased by 25%.
The rear wheel is the last thing the wind sees. That's why we developed this rim shape to minimize air resistance on the trailing edge of the bike. With a depth of 60mm and an external width of 30mm, the Rapide CL II rear rim reduces turbulence and offers the greatest aerodynamic advantage. Because the rear wheel doesn't influence steering as much as the front wheel, this deep tread doesn't negatively impact handling. Together they represent the fastest package for real racing conditions.
