Named after the hunting spear of the Zulu people from Greg's homeland of South Africa, the Assegai drills into any terrain, designed from a mix of the best Maxxis profiles. Greg took the advantages of the Minion DHF and DHR for fast rolling on hardpack, for good grip in slippery corners, wet roots and rocks. He took the side knobs from the HighRoller plus a small intermediate knob for ultimate lateral grip and last but not least the knob height from the Shorty to dig into softer ground. The hunting weapon is ready!

Foldable bead core: Rings made of Kevlar or another aramid fiber hold the tires securely on the rim. The advantages are lower weight and easier transport due to small packing dimensions.
Tubeless Ready (TR): Tubeless tires have many advantages: You can ride with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no tube, the risk of a puncture is also reduced. Maxxis TR tires are better prepared for installation with sealant than other "Tubeless Ready" tires. The bead is completely covered with a layer of rubber, just like a real UST tubeless tire. This means that tubeless installation is successful on all rims with standard dimensions, even after the first inflation and with little liquid.
E-Bike: All Maxxis tires can be used on Pedelecs / E-Bikes with support up to 25 km/h.
