Maxxis Minion DHR2 WT DD TR 3C MaxxTerra
With a completely new tread design, the Minion DHR II is the ideal tire for aggressive gravity riding. With the side knobs of the legendary DHF, which have been slightly widened for even better cornering, it has extreme cornering grip. The center knobs have beveled knobs for better acceleration. Notches on the knobs improve the transition when turning into corners. Some of the center knobs have a paddle shape, they dig in when braking hard and help keep the bike under control.
Wide Trail Casing (WT)
This special carcass construction optimizes the profile layout and the tire shape on today's modern wider rims. Traditional tires are developed for narrow rims and have a shape that is too square on wide rims and therefore do not perform optimally. WT tires are optimized for an inner rim width of 35 mm, but work excellently on all rims with an inner dimension between 30 and 40 mm.
Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tires have many advantages: You can ride with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no tube, the risk of punctures is also reduced. MAXXIS TR tires are better prepared for installation with sealant than other "Tubeless Ready" tires. The bead of our TR tires is completely covered with a layer of rubber, just like a real UST tubeless tire. This means that tubeless installation is successful on all rims with standard dimensions after the first inflation and with little liquid. "Normal" MAXXIS MTB tires can also be installed tubeless with sealant, like tires from other manufacturers, because the carcass fabric is very dense. However, only the new MAXXIS TR models are officially approved for tubeless installation and guaranteed by MAXXIS. Tubeless installation of other models is at your own risk.
Note: We strongly advise against using sealant that contains ammonia. Ammonia has been proven to attack the carcass and, depending on the amount used, can weaken it by up to 30% after just a few months.
3C MaxxTerra
The right 3C mixture for enduro and freeride tires. This mixture is characterized by smooth running uphill and excellent grip downhill, as well as a long service life.
Double Down
Doubledown tires are constructed like downhill tires: two carcass layers reinforced with a butyl insert in the sidewall. However, thanks to two 120 TPI (instead of 60 TPI) carcass layers and an aramid bead, they are lighter than downhill tires, significantly more stable and robust than TR + EXO tires and therefore ideal for tough enduro courses.
