For the new Epic 8 Comp, we've tweaked every variable in the formula for speed. We're pushing the boundaries of performance, efficiency and lightweight construction to better meet today's more demanding XC tracks. The Epic 8's new kinematics make it the most pedal-efficient bike we've ever tested, while the shocks have been tuned to absorb bumps better than before. The new Epic 8 represents the next evolution of speed.

UNHEARD OF POWER: The Epic 8 is the most powerful 120 mm bike on earth. You will be overwhelmed by the performance of the progressive geometry, which excels in technical terrain, ensures fast acceleration and impresses with efficiency on climbs. The extremely high torsional rigidity of the frame guarantees the most precise handling.
RESISTANT TO SHOCKING: Compared to the previous generation, the new Epic 8 absorbs 12% more shock and vibration, so you tire more slowly and perform better for longer. While others suffer, you have enough strength in your arms and legs for the next attack.
DAMPER TUNING FROM THE FACTORY: The Specialized Ride Dynamics team uses a special tuning to adapt all of the shocks to our best mountain bikes. This is also the case with the Epic 8, whose damping properties not only increase the performance of this XC competition bike, but also the riding experience as a whole. By perfecting the interaction of the shock, leverage ratios and kinematics, we can create a mountain bike that performs better as a unit than the sum of its parts.
SYMBIOSIS OF MAN AND MACHINE: Thanks to the optimized kinematics of the chassis, our Ride Dynamics team was able to reduce the rocking induced by pedaling by a full 20% - the suspension remains active while riders remain in the optimal position for maximum pedaling efficiency. Of the full-suspension mountain bikes we tested, the Epic 8 is the most efficient when pedaling.
LESS IS MORE: And savings are deserved - at least in the case of the new Epic 8. It may be lighter, but it also has two new features: The SWAT™ Box 4.0 in the down tube offers space for everything you need in the event of a breakdown on the track. And the integrated steering stop ensures that the handlebars don't "scratch the corner" on the top tube. In fact, despite the two features, the S-Works Epic 8 frameset is 76 grams lighter and our most powerful Epic frame ever.
