Lightness usually comes at a price. The frames of high-quality learning balance bikes from other brand manufacturers are made primarily of aluminum. The recommended retail prices for the products are then around €150 to €180. In addition to aluminum, the even lighter magnesium is also becoming increasingly important in vehicle construction. The alkaline earth metal will give further impetus to lightweight vehicle construction in the future - because magnesium also has a high specific strength. As an element, it is available on our earth in almost unlimited quantities. Mining does not pollute the environment. Magnesium also scores points as a sustainable material due to its very good recyclability.
Thanks to the magnesium frame, fork and handlebars, the new BACHTENKIRCH “GoBikes” are particularly light. The lightest equipment variant with the tubeless 12" EVA tubular tires weighs only 2.6 kg (!). The ultra-lightweight is therefore suitable for very young two-wheel riders aged around 1.5 years who would like to learn their first safe steps on the bike very early on .
