Specialized Crux: DSW frame
Is a patented construction process based on hydroforming. This involves precisely fitting tube joints to one another, resulting in better, more stable welds and ultimately a lighter frame. Such a frame is on average twice as durable as a conventional aluminum frame. With Smartweld, for example, we can produce a unique one-piece down tube with bottom bracket housing. This saves weight and improves power transmission.

Specialized Crux WEIGHT
Frame size 56 with the lightest paintwork weighs just 1,399 grams. Even though other series frames may differ from this, the Crux DSW is the lightest aluminum gravel bike of all time. Combined with our FACT 12r Crux carbon fork, the performance-tuned and extremely robust Crux DSW has a total weight of 9.37 kg. No other aluminum gravel bike can keep up with that.
EXTREMELY POWERFUL
More tire clearance means more performance - that's why the Crux DSW has the same tire clearance as its carbon counterpart: 47 mm at 700C and up to 2.1 inches at 650B. This means the Crux DSW can take riders anywhere - at full throttle.
UNBELIEVABLE AGILE
Responsive on the pedals. Smooth in the saddle. D'Aluisio Smartweld gives us the opportunity to tune the shapes of the aluminum and create a ride that only seemed possible with carbon. Because of course the Crux DSW has the same performance-oriented gravel geometry as its racing colleague. The longer reach ensures better weight distribution and fast, confident handling, while the lower stack enables a performance-oriented riding position. With a bottom bracket height of 72 mm, we have hit the sweet spot between maneuverable and stable.

Specialized S-Works Crux - SRAM RED XPLR
When Specialized launched the new Crux 2020, they created magic together and made gravel (ultra) easy. With the S-Works version, Specialized has managed to make the Crux, the lightest gravel bike in the world, even lighter. The unmatched ability of massive tire clearance and performance gravel geometry have been retained and updated with UDH and the new SRAM RED XPLR groupset to save another 102 grams. Gravel adventures will feel even lighter and smoother.
Extra Light
The S-Works FACT 12r carbon frame weighs just 725g, while the standard FACT 10r carbon frame weighs 825g. This was achieved by applying groundbreaking insights from the development of the world's lightest road bike frame, the Aethos, to the Crux. The result? A gravel bike that climbs brilliantly, rides effortlessly over rough terrain, and weighs less than a full water bottle in your bottle cage.
Versatile
The Crux offers 2.1" tire clearance on 650B wheels and 47C on 700C wheels. More tire clearance means more flexibility. Much like our Diverge, the Crux will take you anywhere - at full speed.
Direct driving behavior
The Crux is agile, playful and responsive. Its legendary history in cyclocross has influenced its performance-oriented gravel geometry and competition-optimized riding position.

with UDH (universal derailleur hanger) and the new SRAM RED XPLR components, a 13-speed 10-46 cassette, power meter, optimized lever ergonomics and brake levers that reduce the hand force required by up to 80%.
